Gifted Students Academy workshops are delivered both by Matt and a number of talented and experienced trainers and facilitators, bringing a broad range of expertise and skills to the organisation and our work.

Dan Barnfield

A trained teacher and holding a degree in Outdoor Education/Experiential Learning, Dan has been working with young people in a variety of settings for over ten years; from 'Brat Camps' in the States to youth leadership and council development programmes in the UK.

With a passion for people development and as an NLP Master Coach Practioner, he brings with him the knowledge, skill and ability to support young people to learn, change and develop in an accelerated and sustainable way.

Mick Owen

Mick Owen has been delivering training and coaching since 1991. He has considerable experience as a sports coach and coach educator and brings his knowledge of team dynamics, goal setting and leadership to the training room.

In his role as an inspirational tutor Mick has helped individuals and organisations develop skills and improve performance both on the sports field and in the board room.

Mike Hargreaves

Mike has been working with young people in a personal development context for many years whether that’s leading oversees expeditions, exploring the mountains and rivers of the U.K. or discussing personality preferences in a training room. He has experience of working with an array of client groups and has successfully engaged with young gang members to G&T students, ex-offenders to senior management.

With an infectious energy and enthusiasm for personal development Mike brings a multidisciplinary approach to his work including T.A., NLP and MBTI supporting young people to confidently make the most of every opportunity at school and beyond.

Penny Wolff

With over 15 years' experience in both the private and public sector, Penny prides herself on offering clients bespoke courses that meet their individual needs.

Her passion is personal development and coaching and she has extensive experience of working within organisations such as Sure Start and children's centres, empowering both parents and staff through personal development and confidence building workshops. She has facilitated the setting up of a number of very successful parent's forums, father's groups and training & employment departments for several children's centres.

Robin Hill

Always involved in developing other's whether as key performance analyst or life coach, Robin has acquired the ability of personal strength and dedication to keep his drive and other’s interest at heart. 

He is creative when delivering training and executive coaching. Engaging as a tutor and disciplined in approach to preparation and delivery.

Over eight years of working for a multinational company involved in developing people, implementing reporting solutions, forecasting and project management, equipped him with just the right balance of understanding his work and study ethic. Outside his work he continually progresses his education in a variety of life and health practices, including anatomy, physiology and hypnotherapy.

Miriam Luke


Miriam has spent nearly 10 years working with high performers in sport, business and education, to assist and develop people and organisations to realise their true talent and achieve their full potential.

Having worked helping graduates develop the life skills for the workplace, a natural progression has been to help gifted and talented young people develop those skills whilst still at school. Her outstanding presentation and communication skills, her creativity and her ability to inspire translates well into creating an exciting and motivating experience.

Prior to this, Miriam was a pioneer in British women’s rowing; winning Britain’s first women’s rowing World Championships medal and the first women’s Olympic rowing medal. She represented Great Britain for 11 years winning the full set of World Championship medals, Bronze, Silver and Gold. She is a triple Olympian and achieved her ambition by winning a silver medal at the Sydney Games in 2000.
