The National Gifted Students Academy was launched in 2010 to help fill the gap left following the demise of the Young, Gifted and Talented initiative and the City GATES Progression Academy.

We work closely with secondary schools in England supporting their Gifted and Talented programme.

We work with year 7 - year 13 students to:

  • Increase confidence and self-assuredness
  • Work well in teams and leadership roles
  • Identify personal goals
  • Develop excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Interact successfully with and take responsibility for their community
  • Develop and put into use advanced learning techniques
  • Create the aspirations and opportunity to achieve identified goals, including progressing to a Russell Group university
This is achieved through:
  • In-school student workshops
  • Providing ongoing support, guidance and coaching to G&T co-ordinators
  • A student portfolio of tools, guides and worksheets
  • Regular updates in developments in the world of Gifted and Talented education
We are also in the process of working towards:
  • An exclusive networking website with resources, discussion and shared expertise
  • An annual Gifted and Talented Co-ordinators event, with opportunities to share expertise, develop new resources and approaches, access support and guidance
